Offensive “X-Factor”: Lance Dunbar

Let me be the first to say I was totally wrong about running back Lance Dunbar. The little kid out of the University of North Texas has really shown us some flashes of greatness on the football field. I never thought he would be any factor because I banked on running back Joseph Randle being the key-change of pace back to running back DeMarco Murray. Yet in his short time with the team, Dunbar has shown he can really compliment Murray in the backfield. The guy can use his speed and elusiveness to create plays down the field and help spark the offense. Dunbar is like a poor man’s Darren Sproles, a dynamic player who can change the field position in a hurry. On Thanksgiving Day this past year, Dunbar broke out for 82 yards on 12 carries, which helped turn the game around for the Cowboys. Unfortunately, he got hurt again during the game, putting him out for the season. If this kid can stay healthy all season long, he could help bring a spark to an offense that gets bogged down a lot.
