Kelvin Gaines leaving UNT for pro career

Most likely yes. It wouldn't be a hard task. Although finding big guys has not been a strength of Benford.

Yeah. I just don't see us getting someone over 6'7" who is actually good as long as Benford is here. Take a look at Gaines' production, and the 6'9" JUCO post who we're looking at.

Either go with small lineups all the time or put space eaters with little skill in.

Is this a joke? Kelvin Gaines couldn't put up anything close to decent stats in college ball regardless of the reason. No professional team is going to sign this guy. This has to be a joke.

Professional team doesn't necessarily mean NBA. There are plenty of spots in Japan, Israel, France, etc. professional leagues that would take a flier on a 6'9" US college player.

I'm sure the deal is already done or he wouldn't be leaving.

And if presented with the choice of making a few bucks and experiencing a different part of the world and it's culture or getting 5, 1 min 30 sec sub-runs a night under Bedford I whole-heartedly support the man's decision.

So he'd rather leave the country than be associated with Tony Benford?

Sounds about right.

Remember that 6 point, 4 rebound domination against FAU? Remember the 44 personal fouls against 41 combined points + rebounds in 2013-14?

His time with North Texas was brief, but he'll always have the memories. And a suitcase full of t-shirts that Scott Monarch gave him.

The real question here is, how are we going to replace the production? He had that one assist in the La Tech game... Who is going to distribute for Jordan now?

More importantly, how in the heck is he gonna feed his babies?
