UNT Trap game for MUTS?

North Texas

When: Saturday, Oct. 12 (Time TBA). Where: Denton, Texas. TV: TBA. Radio: 100.5 FM, 102.5 FM, 89.5 FM. Series: UNT 7-5. Last meeting: MTSU 38-21 (2012).

If theres a trap game on MTSUs schedule, this has the potential to be it. A week earlier, East Division power ECU comes to Murfreesboro for a highly anticipated game. And after this game, a bye week and an equally hyped home matchup with East Division contender Marshall awaits. North Texas likely will not jump off the page on anyones schedule, but the Mean Green should be solid and balanced. UNT will be coming off its first ever C-USA game versus Tulane, so it could be 1-0 in its new league with the Blue Raiders coming to town for its conference home opener. If the Blue Raiders look ahead, this game could bite them.

Last to time they rolled into town we beat them by 52 points... I don't think they will be taking us lightly

At this point, we are probably each other's biggest "rivals," if you can call it that. I know we're not expected to be anywhere near as good as the teams they are playing before and following us, and MUTS is expected to be better than us, but I doubt that they expect us to be completely uncompetitive. Calling this a "trap game" sounds a little silly.

A trap game happens when one competitor is completely superior in every facet possible. Someone please tell me where the blue dreaders have ever been so superior to UNT that we couldn't compete against them. And yes I was there in the rain for 52 - 7.

That's not the definition I'm familiar with. A trap game is when a team is looking beyond a particular game or otherwise not giving a game the focus it may need, setting them up for a potential loss.

      A-Scott Projected to OU

      St. Johns is one of the great sleeping giant jobs in the nation. They have a fantastic basketball history (they haven't been that great for the last generation or so, but the Johnies do have a helluva tradition) going back about 80 years and they play in NYC at MSG.

      Recent Past With all the excitement over Tylor Perry we quickly forgot about the best player from our recent past. The stats and awards bear it out. In my mind the answer is Javion Hamlet. We won the Conference in 2020 and arguably that was the best team we have ever had.

      Judge orders Florida State, ACC to mediation to settle suit

      A majority of schools could just vote to dissolve the ACC. There would be a court fight, but eventually schools that want out will be released with some greatly reduced financial penalty. It's like a divorce, you can't keep someone in an unhappy relationship, even with a contract. It will happen probably before the end of next year at the pace things are moving.
