Freshman guard Clarke Overlander has asked for a release from his scholarship and plans to transfer from the UNT mens basketball program, head coach Tony Benford announced yesterday.

"I want to thank my teammates, coach Benford and the staff at North Texas for the opportunities this season, but at this time, I feel like moving on might be the most beneficial thing for my playing career", Overlander said in a press release. "My family and I appreciate all of the tremendous support we received from the fans and the entire North Texas community."

I'm a fan. Will always be a fan.

But goddamn I could use some good news from Mean Green Athletics.

My sentiments exactly. Indeed, the old song from "Hee Haw" about if it wern't for bad new, I would have no luck at all. has never been very funny to me as a Mean Green fan. It is too literal. It is too true.

      St. Johns is one of the great sleeping giant jobs in the nation. They have a fantastic basketball history (they haven't been that great for the last generation or so, but the Johnies do have a helluva tradition) going back about 80 years and they play in NYC at MSG.

      Recent Past With all the excitement over Tylor Perry we quickly forgot about the best player from our recent past. The stats and awards bear it out. In my mind the answer is Javion Hamlet. We won the Conference in 2020 and arguably that was the best team we have ever had.

      Judge orders Florida State, ACC to mediation to settle suit

      A majority of schools could just vote to dissolve the ACC. There would be a court fight, but eventually schools that want out will be released with some greatly reduced financial penalty. It's like a divorce, you can't keep someone in an unhappy relationship, even with a contract. It will happen probably before the end of next year at the pace things are moving.
