Would LSU consider playing this game at North Texas?

Assuming that this storm causes significant damage to Baton Rouge (like Gustav did), would LSU consider moving the game to North Texas, like was done with Arizona State in 2005?

Or would this game be canceled and not rescheduled at all?

Hopefully, the storm blows through quickly, and there is no significant wind damage, power outages and flooding. However, you have to plan for the worse case scenario.

For the record, I think we play the game in Baton Rouge on Saturday. BUT, in the event I am wrong (it's happened)...

Houston would a great alternative, since Dallas is already booked (EDIT: Reliant Stadium is already booked, but how about an evening game at Rice Stadium? Holds 47k). That, or just pay us the insurance money and we'll just pretend none of this ever happened, get ready for the home opener next week.

Either way, hoping for the best for all our brethren down on the Gulf Coast!

I would MUCH rather they come to Denton, and it's pretty short notice for security and concessions and such, but there looks to be nothing at Reliant Stadium on Sunday if they want to compromise. TSU vs. Prairie View are at Reliant on Saturday night.

UCLA at Rice on Thursday, and San Marcos at U of H Saturday night. The power outage problems from the storm are starting to look fairly serious at the moment.

I like our chances of hosting more now that BR is getting a direct hit.

LSU can't afford to cancel or reschedule.

Split revenue 50/50

Bring in temporary seating in the plazas near the wing zone to get an extra couple thousand or so.

Standing room only passes.

We should be practically set up for next weeks home opener, the athletic department will make sure everything gets ready. It's not like we were waiting until next week to start prep.

We have plenty of tailgating area for overflow to set up a jumbo screen watching party for the sold out game.

Any other ideas if we do host to take advantage of this situation?

They show us zero respect on their board.

Respect is earned, not requested or demanded. We have achieved absolutely nothing in football since 2004 that garners any respect whatsoever. Sad, but true.

The way the storm is moving the eye will clip the western edges of Baton Rouge, meaning the rainfall might be measured in feet and not inches. That field is going to be soaked. If BR is lucky, the eye will hit the city limit some time tonight. :ermm:

Will they really not play if the field is soaked? That would be really disappointing if they didn't play because of mud or because the game would mess up the field. I get it if there is significant damage to the stadium or utility issues, but mud?
