LSU football team not overlooking underdog North Texas

After opening the past two seasons with big ticket matchups against No. 18 North Carolina and No. 3 Oregon, respectively, the Tigers say they aren't sleeping on obvious underdog North Texas.

"Our coaches have been preaching to prepare exactly how we prepared for Oregon and the team has responded," said junior defensive lineman Barkevious Mingo. "You can never underestimate an opponent because they're going to give you their best shot, whoever it may be."

Sixth-year senior offensive lineman Josh Dworaczyk said LSU is already going over the game plan for the Mean Green, but aren't hurrying things too much.

"It's still early on," Dworaczyk said. "You give us two weeks, we're going to take two weeks."

"I'm excited to be out there for my first start and go against a different team and put some stats on those guys," Mettenberger said. "I'm tired of seeing our guys hit each other all the time."

So much for taking UNT seriously.

But, at least they got our name right.

Yes sir......It was a hit at the Houston game....we were the ones with the double decker school bus parked next to Fouts. Unfortunately I moved to Dallas and my brewing counter part has moved as well. Believe me....I miss it. :( As soon as I can get settled, I would like to get it going again. Mean Green Brew Club? hmmm....Now...that's an idea. ;)

John Denver used to show up to Fouts with some righteous brew. Haven't heard from him for a couple years. Did he move away?

      Doesn't seem new, but unlimited transfers

      I can't blame them, the system in place allows them to profit and to move freely. We may not like it, but it's the system. I'm hoping schools taking over the collectives, it's already happening for reasons I stated above, will usher in contracts and buy outs for players. We've opened Pandora's box so we aren't going back to amateur sports, the best we can get out of it is payment on our investments.

      Agree, there was some semblance of programs doing the right thing and following the rules even though they were always getting busted for violations, and everyone knew cheating was going on. It's why I was saying the veil is off now, and making everyone play by those rules has supercharged the whole thing. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the schools aren't supposed to work with NIL collectives to get players right? But everyone including UNT is 100% working with these collectives to send out deals to players. Same kind of fake rule following like we used to have, just more of it now.

      I’m not the type who’s going to say, “I’m done with college sports” and that be it. I’m moreso the guy whose interest is just going to wane to the point that I don’t watch anymore. It would actually free up a lot of time that I could be more productive🤣🤣

      I don’t completely disagree, but at least they used to have sit out a year if they transferred. If I’m going to lose a year of eligibility, I’m going to think long and hard before I leave for another school. Now? No reason whatsoever to stay.
