Will Old Dominion accept the invite to C-USA?

I've seen on several other sites the hold up is based on Virgina/Newport politics and is not a "no." they have to dot some i's and cross some t's and kiss a few a-- before they can officially say yes.

Hopefully this is the case. With their media market, deep pockets, and success in basketball and FCS football they'd be a solid addition.

ODU seems comfortable with Colonial members such as VCU, William & Mary, James Madison U, etc. and does not seem willing to risk the a large amount of funding for a bunch of "strangers". They would be distant from ten of the thirteen other members and I don't believe that they've been in a conference with any nor have they played them much. If they were willing to commit they would have announced tomorrow as the others are.

I'm hopeful that Middle gets the nod as the 14th member. They bring adequate or better market, budget, experience, and facilities and they bridge the missing gap between North Carolina and Texas.

I largely agree. But I'd rather see ULL get the nod. That would be therapeutic for LaTech.

i agree. i think ODU needs to look hard at the cost of nearly doubleing the size of their football stadium. frankly, i would have included MTSU for the Nashville /Tennessee market instead of La. Tech, who brings little to the table.
