Recommended Posts

2011-2012 Season average: 4,006

For comparison...

2010-2011: 3,552

2009-2010: 2,716

2008-2009: 3,004

2007-2008: 3,178

2006-2007: 2,067

2005-2006: 2,147

2004-2005: 2,285

I like the trend. Can anyone tell me if this is our highest average ever? Knowing the history of our team in the Super Pit era I'd imagine it is. Let's make it 5k next year.

Students were by far the biggest difference this year. If we could increase the average in student football attendance the sane percent we have increased the average in student basketball attendance. We would average around 23k next year.

A trend I hope we see continue even after TM is gone

Best season attendance figures in many years for both football and basketball this year! That's some good news and something to build upon. We can "discuss" the merits of how these figures were obtained, but it is what it is...and the Mean green nation can be proud of seeing this progress!

Thanks to all the alums, fans, students, etc. who helped make this happen for UNT.

Good things are indeed, happening for UNT and the Mean Green these days...

Hey, I'll bet that Women's BB attendance figures are up significantly as well...does anyone have the numbers on that?

The Super Pit crowd was electric last nite!

i didn't think so...it was way too damn quiet in the first half and only picked up when we had a chance to take the lead again in the second half. i spoke to a guy attending his first game and he commented on how quiet it was. i told him that it isn't usually that bland inside. he was shocked at how cheap the tickets were and disappointed that last night was the last home game...said he'd be back next year!

Students are turning around. UNT is doing a better and better job at orientation getting students spirited for athletics. Problem is the past years freshman would lose enthusiasm and support would steadily dwindle. I think with more success you will see freshman be as supportive as they were in the freshman year as they are in their junior year or senior year.

Culture is changing, I really believe that.
