How Did UNT Fare With 2003 Texas Legislature?

Recommended Posts

You're right it is too early to say for sure. Each university has been asked to submit a 2003-2005 GR budget that is 12.5% below their current funding. This may mean 200-300 faculty positions at UNT may be lost. Two other scarey things so far:

1) TAMS may be unfunded.

2) Governor Perry has suggested that a large ammount of money can be had by not funding higher education 'special projects'. UNT has a number of these items that may be lost.

God bless Texas

Today's Dallas Morning News has a short note about the program. Says UNT will keep the program no matter what happens. Although, if funding falls through (not just line item, but also potentially some funds they are working on through TEA), then the program might have to start charging tuition.
