Would be disappointing but not surprising. When you are dealing with JUCO transfers you run into this. We had a defensive end named Alonzo Horton who this happened to awhile back. Personally I am really hoping that both of our defensive end prospects make the grade and get in as they are most critical to our defense.

I would like to have seen him playing for us, but always had this lingering doubt from the circuitous route he had taken to the point where we recruited him out of New Mexico Military. And I couldn't really find any big numbers he had put up there in his last season, when that team had a good year, making the playoffs (sorry, don't have all those details). I would still like to see him here, but at this point, others who qualified and make it to campus deserve a shot at D1 football.

Really a shame. I was looking forward to see him play. However, if he cannot get it done academically at the JUCO lever, could we have expected him to be able to stay eligible at the DI level with his academics. While I hate to lose him, better to lose him now. Just another example of why trying to fill some holes with JUCO's is always a risky proposition. I don't say you shouldn't try, but just that one should not be that surprised when they don't make it to campus after signing.

I hope he stays and gets his 2-year degree and then heads to a DI program...even UNT...after next season.
