Great win. Josh is so clutch in crunch time! Denver played some fantastic defense today. They really shut down George and Eric and smothered our guards. We found a way a to win despite their staunch defense and lights out shooting on 3's. Quality win.

Despite some early struggles at the FT line, Josh really sacked up in the last two minutes including the clinching free throws. Good Lord though, Denver's #5 was nearly automatic from outside the arc. I'd like to have seen someone put a hand in his face or try to run him off the three to begin with. All that said, great win guys!!!

Just one more thing, given a choice of painting my garage and watching it dry or watching that god awful Princeton offense Denver runs, I'll take the paint option. -_-

I'll just say that Josh came up BIG at the end of the game last night. Too bad it even came to that. had the team been able to hit its free throws the game would never have come down to a "must rally" at the end. Great end to a nice win for the Mean Green. I am still puzzled as to why the team gets up 10-12 points and then just has a "brain freeze" and gets VERY VERY Sloppy. Cardiac kids might be a good nickname for this bunch.

You may not like the Denver offense, but they run it pretty darn good. UNT could not seem to figure it out for the majority of the night and left that 3 point shot wide open time and time again. They held Eric to a pretty "below average" game for him and kept Josh out of it for most of the night. George made his usual strong contribution, but was not nearly as dominate on the boards as usual (in my opinion) and really struggled at the line.

The refs had their own "challenges"...especially the short grey haired guy...both coaches seemed to have some "challenges" with several of his calls...how do you miss some of the calls he missed and be a qualified college ref???

Anyway....great job by the Mean Green to hang in there and overcome some very very sloppy play. Play like that in the tournament and it might be an early "bye bye", but hang in there and "find a way" to get in done in spite of the period of "brain freeze" and it could be a great tournament run for the Mean Green.

These guys seem to me to have the confidence that it takes to pull out a game like this one and to do some real damage in the tournament. Peaking at the right time it seems.

GO MEAN GREEN...
