An idea to increase season tickets

Recommended Posts

Would have helped to have had the new seats installed before today’s event.

Opening up the stadium and allowing people to come sit down there in the new seats for a practice could have been a tipping point for people to either renew or consider upgrading to those seats.

Hope they’re installed for the first game.

Threads like this are always a little funny to me. Literally all that you’ve suggested has been tried here. They’ve done it asking donors/ticket holders to make calls. They’ve tried athletes calling non-renewals. Hell, I remember a year McCarney made some calls. Until this university, note that I’m not preaching to most on this board, quits waiting for the stars to align before they will buy season tickets or donate to this program, it will continue to be what it is.

Ticket sales increase when there is something for fans to be excited about:   Better opponents, something to play for like championship or rivalry, team doing well (wins), nice weather.

Things that don't help sales:   Massive player turnover, inconsistent team performance (losses), FCS home opponents, bad weather

Additional attendance issues:  Must find ways to entice Greeks, general students, Denton locals, parents of students, more alums, UNT-branch students, TWU students...

Overall:  Better advertising, more marketing, and communication from the AD's office must be improved.
