Time to go back to North Texas State?
“North Texas” has and will always be part of our name. There is nothing small-time about North Texas. It represents a very big area. No one questions the name “Southern California” either. The Flying Worm is unique and special just like the name Mean Green. The University of North Texas Mean Green with the Flying Worm logo sets us apart and is easily identifiable. It is a strong brand. -

HS Target ‘25: SF, DJ Thomas
Hopefully he may contribute 16-20 minutes per game by year 3. His physique passes the eye test but he is not the big time recruit to get excited about. He played AAU ball with DJ Hall (Southern Assault) of undefeated/state champion Plano East Panthers. They appear to be good friends as well. Hall is a 6-6 beast around the basket and more impressive(though his recruiting list is not much better). I think we will have 8 positions to fill in the 2025 class so I'm ok with his potential. -

Interesting story. Thanks. I remember brief talk of “Texas State” back then. It did have some appeal compared to NTSU.- 1

DATCU stadium
I'll repeat the reports of food running out. Specifically, I and others had to wait on fries and/or chicken strips. It was going to be a couple of minutes for frys (no biggie), but 10 minutes for chicken strips?!?! Maybe it was simply bad luck and timing. Also, the Cokes (Mr. Pibb) tasted odd. Tried two places. Seemed like the syrup was turned down. Possibly another form of shrinkflation. I appreciate they still have the free refills. Although it wasn't hot, I like the presence of the water stations. Cool water should be available to event patrons w/o having to buy a $4 bottle of water and these stations are much better than a simple water fountain. Good job. -

DATCU stadium
I was irritated that the band didn't wear uniforms given the nice weather UNTIL I saw the combined event at halftime with the other HS bands that weren't in uniform. I think that made for a better integrated environment, so I gave them a pass on the decision.
