From what I've read, Colorado won the coin toss and chose to go first. Colorado State had the choice for 2nd OT and chose to start on defense.

I was watching it live and looked away between the OTs and also wondered why that happened.  I should have rewound to figure out what was going on but I assumed that it was one of the recent rule changes for OT.

Is there any reason to ever go first other than impending weather that is only a few minutes away?

Yeah... the juggernaut of Cal came  back from 17 down to take down Idaho. Like I said, they might win 3 or 4 this year, or whatever it is I said. They are not good. They aren't. I know you want to think they're good, for it is a good coping strategy.

Everybody’s been doing it wrong for years.  It took Deion to figure out that going first is the better strategy.

The ESPN worship of Deion and “Grown” was an absolute beating.  I’d be irate if I were a Colorado St. fan who had to listen to it for 4 quarters.

Some surprising "other games" scores to mention from this past weekend.

Including the always wonderful P5 upsets....

@Ohio-10,  Iowa State-7 = not really that much of an upset this year.

Miami (Ohio)-31,  @ Cincy-24 =  surprising to me

ULL-41,  @UAB-21 = trouble in Dilfer-ville?

S. Alabama-33,  @Okla State-7 = Yikes!  No, not that Bama.

Sacramento State-30,  @Stanford-23  = The ACC wants a re-vote

Fresno State-29,  @Arizona St.-0 =  Fresno says Pac-who?

This score is misleading... it was 41-3 with 5 minutes left in the game, before ULL stopped caring.

Wow, you're right.  UAB (1-2) has only won over a poor NC A&T program (0-3).  

UAB now faces #1 Georgia then @ Tulane.

I looked up the scoring summary because I was interested to see how they went from 3 points to 21 points.  Three touchdowns with three failed 2 point conversions.  I like our odds against them if it comes down to a 2 point conversion.🤣🤣

When it was 41-3, ULL switch to the 3-3-5 on defense just for fun 😉

      Coming off big victory, Broncos hope to keep momentum against the Mean Green

      Get to know North Texas The North Texas Mean Green were picked to finish 6th in a mediocre American Athletic Conference. New head coach Ross Hodgehelped the team end last year on a high note with a very successful 31-7 season and an NIT win. North Texas comes in ranked 3rd in the country in scoring defense, allowing just 56.7 points per game (PPG). The high scoring, up-tempo offense that Ross Hodge hoped to install this season hasn’t entirely taken off. They rank just 257th in scoring offense, averaging 70.7 PPG. But the season is young and this is a very talented team that should by no means be overlooked. North Texas is ranked 76th in the highly respected KenPom rankings, whereas Boise State is ranked 84th. The Mean Green are led by senior guard Rubin Jones and junior wing Aaron Scott. Scott leads the team in scoring with 14.3 PPG to go along with four rebounds per game (RPG) and shooting a team high 45% from behind the 3-point arc. Jones is averaging 11 PPG while playing a team high 31 minutes per game. This team wants to play an up tempo, fast break game. The Broncos have had stretches in games in which they become turnover prone. Turnovers lead directly into the game the Mean Green wants to play; let this team get into a rhythm and they will be trouble for most anyone in the country. They also play tenacious defense lead by Jones who has fifteen steals on the year. North Texas comes into Extra Mile Arena on a 3-game winning streak, having recently bested Mississippi Valley State on Saturday, 79-48. They played in the Shriners Charleston Classic Tournament this year, losing to St. John’s and LSU, but both games were hard fought. They lost both games by a combined five points.       The point is, mid-season change can be done without throwing the season away as was suggested would happen if a certain DC was fired. Sometimes you just don't have the roster pieces to be elite. I understand that and I'm sure most do as well. That said, it takes poor coaching to be dead last out of 133 in any given category. After a 4 game losing streak where the defense allowed 35 or more and you got knocked out of bowl contention, a change would have been acceptable. I think it would have been acceptable after Memphis dropped 42 and drove down the field with 30 seconds to win the game. Instead, we made no changes and watched UAB drop 42 on us in embarrassing fashion as the tackling looked equally as bad in game 12 as it did game 1. As a fan, I just hope the portal giveth some studs so we don't waste the final year of Rogers college career.

      I absolutely agree. I think NCAA is in need of changes. I can’t see us continuing down this path the way things are going. I do think the American is going to be wide up next year. Will be interesting which team has most success this off season reloading.

      JD- Believe it or not we agree on more than we don't. I just been state facts and feel without a strong NIL or winning culture, it is tough to make big jumps quickly. If we had stayed in CUSA, we would have defiantly made a bowl this year. Heck, just winning ONE of our close losses puts us in a bowl and I doubt this drastic transformation would have happened. I might be wrong. Power 5 football is a business inside the facilities and the kids know it. Now G5 is trying to play the same game with fewer bullets in the gun unless you have deep pockets. The old saying- football is a game of inches. Just think one Memphis play might have just changed the whole course of action at UNT.
