Are you suggesting that WSU and OSU are going to invite UNT to their imaginary conference? You’re going to have to elaborate as why this would be good for UNT. 

PAC does not have a media deal. 
PAC lost all its members except it’s 2 least-known institutions 

AAC media payout is twice that of MWC

Most schools that would be targeted are in a time zone 2 hours behind us

Well nothing is official, but there has been talk about the two Pac schools inviting the best of Mountain West and AAC to reboot the Pac.

Originally when Stanford and Cal were thought to be staying in the Pac4 rebuild, there was talk of inviting AAC private schools like Smut, Tulane, Rice, and perhaps Tulsa.   Since then, the thought is more like UTSA, Tulane, Memphis. 

I doubt for reasons mentioned a new Pac happens, but a merger with the MWC and re-labeling is more realistic.  Mountain-Pac was suggested.

      HE’S STILL HERE?

      First, I used to hear about coaches being reassigned rather than being fired a lot more. UT did it with someone, but could not cut the coaches salary. Baylor kept Ken Starr’s salary then same. I’m not sure about the lacrosse coach. I suspect, but do not know, football head coaching contracts might contain a no reassignment clause.

      how many ADs never give their coaches an opportunity to adjust/fix? What if you believe the difference between dead last and enough-to-win-10 games is EXTREMELY CLOSE, and attainable with the same guy?

      Contracts work according to whatever they say and signed up for. Which could be anything. I totally get this notion that, "I would never sign up for anything that lets them adjust my pay or position", but there is some precedent here. Off the top of my head, the Baylor President was removed from his role - not fired - after the Briles fiasco. He was "reassigned", before ultimately resigning himself. An Oberlin woman's lacrosse coach said some things about transexuals competing in the sport that the college did not like. She was not fired. She claims she did not break any rules. Oberlin got a little wish-washy with their position, and ultimately She was reassigned due to "breach of trust." Do I think these are exact parallels? No. But one possible takeaway is, if you really want someone moved, a way could be found.

      If his current productivity didn't get him on this list, I doubt starting those other two games would make the difference. Something else is at play here.
