Speaking logically here we have 0 points of reference. New coach, new staff, new players, new conference, not a single down played.  There's not even enough to make an educated guess. It could be great, or it could be horrible. Time will tell.

Exactly. How about we have a starting Quarterback first? Or a two-deep?

I just want to watch the SMU, UTSA, Tulane, UAB, and Memphis games and enjoy it.

This is where I’m seeing our wins, too.

As far as potential losses are concerned:  With a first year coach in our first year in the AAC, just be competitive, play disciplined, and look like we belong.

.500 again, but we are OK with it because it's not Seth's 12th season of .500.

First game and season record for new NT Football coaches:

Littrell:  2016, Smut L 21-34 (5-8)

McCarney:  2011, @ FIU L 16-41 (5-7)

Dodge:  2007, @ OU L 10-79 (2-10)

Dickey:  1998, @ OU L 9-37 (3-8)

Simon:  1994, ACU W 48-0 (7-4-1)

Parker:  1991, ACU W 24-0 (3-7-1)

Nelson:  1982, @ Baylor L 17-21 (2-9)

Tyler:  1981, @ Kentucky L 6-28 (2-9)

Moore:  1979, UTEP W 35-0 (5-6)

Fry:  1973, UTA L 7-31 (5-5-1)

Rust:  1967, Drake W 31-0 (7-1-1)

Mitchell:  1946, @ Texas A$M L 0-47 (7-3-1)

Plus, I think a tougher conference. I feel the first season is a wild card of a year, but I think it will be magic next year.

I like what this coach is doing compared to anything I have witnessed in the past. I think 9-4 would be interesting. I feel like Eric has come into this prepared.

Hardest prediction I have ever made.  I would like to think optimistic and have them 1 game over 0.500.  But that wouldn’t square with my opinion of Seth as a mediocre coach but not a bad coach.  If they get a little more production out of the QB position,  accentuate the running back talent they have and a defense that can make critical stops in the second half they can exceed any realistic expectations we have.  Right now I can’t give them more than 4 wins.  I think that would be the season total over/under wins total for Vegas betting if they posted odds.

We're always world-beaters before the season starts and optimism is usually at an all time high when we get the pads on.  However, I think we are asking a lot of a new coaching staff, new system and new players at key positions.  We'll be better in the second half of the season, but that's going to be the toughest stretch of our schedule.  I'm between 3-9 and 4-8.  Would love if we do better than that, but I think we will need a lot of breaks to fall our way to get to or above .500.

This year will be a hard watch. If we win 5, it's would exceed my expectation.

4-8, sadly no bowling. Shake it off, and next year will be a major improvement.

I’m somewhere in here.

I think there is a real chance that the defense is a lot better, but that the offense is a lot worse.  Doesn’t seem to jive with Morris’ history of usually fielding top offenses.  Just having trouble seeing that based on the QB and oline play so far this spring.  Maybe these guys will make a massive leap over the the few days, off-season and through fall camp.
