This one may be great for us... One of the tallest people on the planet. Athletic, but needs coaching and a weight/nutrition program like we have. Our pace would be perfect for him.

I didn't watch him unless he played us but he seemed soft playing us

I agree. Averaged 4 blocks per game but I feel he didn't have the impact elsewhere he should have at his height. I'd rather have an athletic 6'9" forward with some bulk like Sissoko.

Not interested in Sharp or Germany. I don't believe UH had a single player over 6'8" get significant minutes this past season. ESPN doesn't even show anybody over 6'9" on their roster. Shead and Sasser are listed at 6'1" and 6'2". Not exactly big guards either. Give me another Sissoko type player to share minutes with him and a few more athletic Rubin Jones/Aaron Scott types and we're fine. Moore and Perry (if he returns) can handle guard. I'm more interested in strong athletic forwards at the 4 and 5.

I agree, but loved having guards with size like Kai and Eady.

For sure. I'm just saying we don't need to sacrifice talent for height. Of course we need some size on the floor but it doesn't need to be NBA size across the board. Kansas State started Nowell at 5'8" along with two other guards at 6'2" and 6'3". K State's starting forwards are 6'6" and 6'9". Miami's star Nijel Pack is listed at 6'0" and their two tallest starters are 6'7". There is a recipe for success that doesn't require that top end size.

Right.    Give me some perimeter defenders who can shoot with confidence.   Then, give me a dude who can put the ball on the floor and get to the rim if he needs to.   Then, since we lost Abou, and Morgan may or may not remain, we'll likely need an interior presence to work with Sissoko.

I'm sure Hodge knows what he needs and will target some assistant coaches from the JUCO ranks who might have some dudes to bring with them.

Yeah I'm sure he's got a plan. Whether it be Juco guys, D2 stars, or whatever, there's a plan. I'd like to see if we can get Max Abmas of Oral Roberts to come home since he entered the transfer portal. I think he could be the perfect replacement for Perry for this next season while other guys develop. Maybe even an upgrade. Veteran, proven scorer who's played the big dance a couple times including a Sweet Sixteen run as a 15 seed which ended with a 2 point loss to Arkansas. I'm sure he'll be loaded with offers though.
