It's coming anyway. Players at some schools already have court approval to unionize. Plus players are already under school medical insurance and care for game injuries and scholarships cover room and board. The only thing left is compensation continues if game injured.
That means players unionizing and collective bargaining agreements.
It also means employment status for athletes and all the requirements and benefits the comes with that which is exactly what the universities don't want.
I hope many more players get denied payments!
It's past time to end this farce called NIL.
Instead there needs to be signed, negotiated labor contracts between schools and players. Similar to the NFL. You can't break your contract and play somewhere else (for any reason), unless a negotiated release or traded for compensation from the receiving school.
