We haven't offered this kid....he's a 6'7" power forward. Okie State and Vandy have offered....along with Sacramento State and New Orleans.

Story on him in the DMNews today. Moved here from Calvert. His Dad is head coach at Denton High.....and M.J. is having a great season. 17 ppg and  13.4 rpg. He mentioned in the story that he loves to rebound.....

Know nothing about him, but if he doesn't project to be a very good defensive player, NT (McCasland) is probably not interested.

Considering 17pts. and 13 boards a game, I could teach him defense.  Those stats are much stronger than Morgan's coming out of high school.

“I have a mindset that I’m the best rebounder in Texas, and the nation,” M.J. Thomas said. “I feel like I’m the best kid, the best rebounder on the floor. When I go get the rebounds, man, it’s dangerous.”

An all-state wide receiver at Calvert, M.J. Thomas also played middle linebacker for the six-man football team. A couple of bumps and bruises in the low post won’t slow him down, his father said.

“When people think that if they punch him, play dirty with him, he’ll stop; it really turns him on,” Michael Thomas said. “He loves to be physical.”

I love McCasland but I have yet to figure out his recruiting philosophy. I would think he is highly aware of this young man and had been in contact, but if not, who on staff would be in charge of evaluating this young man?  Most of our forwards, Bell, Martinez, Scott, etc tend to be of a slight build. Would love to see a young man with this size and skill set in our green.

I can't find it now but he has a large number of steals.  You wouldn't have to teach him a lot of defense.
