Flower Mound Marcus football coach, hospital official named in arrests of 46 men in North Texas sex trafficking

Recommended Posts

A Flower Mound Marcus High School assistant football coach resigned after his arrest. A hospital official at Baylor Scott & White Health in North Texas is not employed there anymore. And information on an official with First Priority of America in Fort Worth is no longer on the religious organization’s website. That is what has happened to three of 46 men recently arrested during a multi-agency operation targeting the demand for commercial sex in North Texas. The men — a majority of whom are from North Texas — face charges of solicitation of prostitution after they were arrested on Jan. 12 and Jan. 13 in an operation focused on suppressing the demand for prostitution, according to local and federal law enforcement. The operation was spearheaded by the Department of Homeland Security as part of its Blue Campaign.

On Tuesday, Frisco police announced that 23 of the 46 men were arrested in their city. Undercover officers met with suspects at hotels in Frisco and Southlake. Law enforcement personnel responded to online solicitations for prostitution an arranged meetings with the suspects at the hotels with the coordination and cooperation of hotel management and staff, Frisco police said.

One of those arrested was Cecil Timothy Morrison, a former teacher and assistant football coach at Flower Mound Marcus High School in the Lewisville school district. Morrison joined the Lewisville school district in April 2018 and submitted his resignation on Jan. 18. “Mr. Morrison was placed on administrative leave when the district became aware of his arrest and subsequently submitted his resignation to the district last week,” according to a statement released by Lewisville ISD officials. “This is a legal matter outside his role in our district, and we have no indication the circumstances surrounding his arrest involved students.”

This is a learning moment for me. I thought “sex trafficking” was when people were forced into serving as a sex worker. The way i read it, this sting was just to reduce the amount solicitation of prostitution. I’m not trying to argue, I just want to make sure I understand this correctly.

Were these women sex trafficked? Were they underaged? Was some pimp beating them and holding them hostage?

No?

Then why do all these guys need their names flashed through the news, charged with serious crimes and have their lives ruined all because they were paying for sex? Gotta keep the faux puritanical mindset in place I guess. Thanks for all the brave and noble work you did here blue. 🙄

See, you see it like I did, which is why I asked the question about the title insinuating that this was a sex trafficking sting instead of a straight solicitation sting.

Prostitution and sex trafficking can go hand in hand. Especially since many of those prostitutes probably have no choice, and no way to get out.  It's not a stretch to link the two.

Many prostitutes may have no other income source and many of these John’s may have no other sex source. This raid did not rescue a single trafficked person. It may have stopped them from having a client or two down the road but none of these dudes were out to force someone to have sex with them. They were willing to pay for the service of sex and they got to pay for a night in jail instead. There was no sex in this sting, no prostitutes, and therefore, no trafficking.

Many prostitutes have no other source of income because they are not allowed to.  And they typically get very little money, most of it goes to the pimp.  They are not allowed to stop being prostitutes.  Their entire lives are controlled by their pimps.

Supply and demand. If people stop paying for sex, there's no money in prostitution and no market for sex trafficking. This is about targeting those who pay for sex. This is no different than setting up an operation for child sex trafficking and having undercover officers sell sex as underage kids online. Just because there was no actual kid, it doesn't mean it doesn't target child sex trafficking. It's about targeting the payee who creates the market for pimps to operate in. Many of these prostitutes are doped up and feel stuck because they've been physically beat and broken down emotionally so much so while they may be "consenting" up front, there's more going on in the background.

This isn't just somebody buying a $5 trick from a homeless person on park lane.
