What I started thinking about was, what kind of metrics can we look at to better see at-large chances?

You cannot just look at the CUSA overall OOC record (we look very good in this regard), you have to factor in the quality of those opponents.  I haven't gotten that far yet, but it would be interesting to look at things like averrage RPIs/NETs of the OOC schedule across all of CUSA.

That's just a beginning.  There are probably metrics you can pull.  Once you have done everything you want for 2022-23, then you start comparing it to the same numbers from seasons where CUSA did get an at-large.
