Is he still on Sarkisan’s staff at Texas? What happened at TCU to warrant an exit? Is he looking to coach again?  Could Patterson coaching the now truly Mean Green of the future eventually lead to his successor Dykes Jr in ‘33 at the helm in Denton?

I totally disagree.  Gary misses the grind.  Guys like Gary don't do well in the background.

He told his players it wouldn’t matter if they complained about him to the higher ups because he was untouchable, well, turns out he wasn’t.

What happened to warrant an exit: While his schemes were still mostly succesful, his culture approach had started to be out of sync with the current generation of student-athletes. As a consequence the on the field effort wasn't always what it oughta be. Also he might not have seemed that in love with some of the new requirements in recruiting. Some of that gets alleviated when you have UT NIL money to throw around, maximal staffing, and don't have to make all the HC executive decisions and recruiting frontman stuff

Sure. I am not a fan of the idea either in general. But if I or you don't like it that has little to no consequences for the on the field product and nobody will fire us from our positions as fans. Whether the HC likes it or doesn't, it still IS now part of his job, so he needs to handle it well, otherwise he will get passed by and lose a lot of talent. Not adapting to the portal sadly makes you unqualified to be an FBS head coach in this day and age.

      St. Johns is one of the great sleeping giant jobs in the nation. They have a fantastic basketball history (they haven't been that great for the last generation or so, but the Johnies do have a helluva tradition) going back about 80 years and they play in NYC at MSG.

      Recent Past With all the excitement over Tylor Perry we quickly forgot about the best player from our recent past. The stats and awards bear it out. In my mind the answer is Javion Hamlet. We won the Conference in 2020 and arguably that was the best team we have ever had.

      Judge orders Florida State, ACC to mediation to settle suit

      A majority of schools could just vote to dissolve the ACC. There would be a court fight, but eventually schools that want out will be released with some greatly reduced financial penalty. It's like a divorce, you can't keep someone in an unhappy relationship, even with a contract. It will happen probably before the end of next year at the pace things are moving.

      Judge orders Florida State, ACC to mediation to settle suit

      The ACC has a media rights deal that runs through 2036 with massive financial penalties to leave. ACC schools make more money per school than the Big 12. The PAC had no media deal and zero financial penalty to leave the conference. The two situations couldn't be more different. ACC schools do not want to associate themselves with the likes of WVU, Cincy, UCF, Texas Tech, OK State and the other Truck Stoppers.

      The ACC will be picked apart just like the PAC was. Big12 will help in the raiding, just as they did with the PAC.
