Alabama Band not coming to UT game.  What a bummer.  UT, in their infinite wisdom, probably put them in some upper deck, remote area of the UT stadium.

Something doesn't add up, IMO.  Bands want quick on/off access to the field for halftime, and I'm super skeptical the Longhorn band program (as well as any band program) would want to appear as bad hosts.

I know it sounds strange but this is really how Texas operates. They make visiting schools use tickets from the visiting school’s allotment which are usually poor seating choices to begin with for the band. Once they move to the SEC they will have to dedicate proper space to visiting bands.

They are bad hosts.  Here is more confirmation....

"This isn’t a new issue with visiting bands at Texas, as LSU learned in a 2019 trip to Austin. Its band was tucked away in the upper deck, a move that led LSU to say they’d force Texas to do the same when the Longhorns visited the following year, according to The Advocate. That game was ultimately canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic."

There were also rumors that they didn’t have the A/C on in LSU’s locker room.

Interesting.  This wasn't how the Green Brigade was treated when I was in it and we visited Austin.

Yea this all changed when Del Conte became athletic director. He moved visitor seating from the lower bowl to the upper bowl. It was either Dodds or Patterson in the AD chair when we last played in Austin in 2014.

Edit: Holy crap, I just realized 2014 was already 8 years ago.
