If Seth beats Texas Southern will you forgive his past sins??

If SL were to achieve a 9-4 would you be happy having him here one more year?

No. I think he has taken us as far as he can. He has slightly raised the profile of our football team, but we need new blood to take us further. With a $2 million a year salary, I think we can lure someone like Tom Herman out of the broadcast booth. We may have to up assistant salaries a little, but it can be done IMO.

There are more significant problems with Seth, than just his mediocre record.

He is not a great public promoter of UNT; he seems to be an introvert.

He doesn't seem to be a good recruiter

He doesn't seem to be a great on-the-field general.

He does not excite the crowd when he actually talks; does this not roll over to the team?

A good head coach has to fill many roles; winning in what is now a bottom-feeder conference is not much of a measuring stick.  Not that we can even do that except with the worst of the worst teams in our conference.

I do expect we will whip TSU.

This. I saw Grant at the game talking to a very tall kid who was probably interested in playing basketball for him from what I could hear of the conversation. Grant seemed super excited, gave the kid his full attention, and made the kid excited. In the back of his mind, he could have been thinking that this kid has no shot at playing here, but you wouldn't know that because Grant is a great promoter, recruiter and spokesperson for our program.

For those who still think all wins and loses are equal and can't understand why the SMU game moved more people over to the SL Era is Over side.....

Feel free to use the TSU win to continue getting high on your own supply that SL is the right person to lead us, that our ROI on him as the HC is just fine, that our program is heading in the right direction, that he has "earned" and "deserves" to continue as the HC at UNT.

Wonder if any of injured players will be coming back this week,  Secondary needs help

Meanwhile…

The coaches (yes, that includes Bennett) were freaking morons for sitting this guy.  And he’s a genius for climbing out of his hole & finding a place to shine.  Happy for him.  He had another INT against Hawaii last week as well.

He also lost a fumble, had -12 yards in punt returns, one tackle against Hawaii who sucks and got a targeting or personal foul penalty in the opening game against Austin Peay.
