U.S. Open

Admittedly, I haven't watched this much tennis in years, maybe decades.  Serena Williams is retiring after the U.S. Open, so any match could be her last.  I really though she was done last night, but she played and incredible third set.  I am not sure when she plays again, but this is the end of an era.

My grandmother used to watch a fair bit of tennis, I don't think she still does, and I think most of her judgement on whether she liked a player or not was if they grunted. She's 93 so idk if she just thought it was unladylike or if it just annoyed her, but that was her reasoning for not pulling for the Williams sisters or Monica Seles lol. 

 

I mean Serena is clearly the goat, just a funny thing that popped into my head.

Not her biggest fan, but she did a ton to get more players out and her and Venus are such a great story of hard work and perseverance. Would be great to see her make one last big run, ala Conners back in 92
