We have a new location for UNT Football Watching Parties for those in or around Collin County.  McKinney ChopShop and Sports Garage opened in February/March of this year located in the Hub 121 area (live music amphitheater) at the intersection of the Sam Rayburn Tollway (Hwy 121) and Alma Drive in McKinney.  This place is great!  It's two stories with decks on both levels as well as a large indoor seating area.  Bars on both levels.  It's also connected to a swanky wine bar next door called Wine-A-Little.  I'm working with them to see if they will start carrying the UNT Alumni wine from Cassaro Winery & Vineyard.  The first watching party at ChopShop will be when we play UTEP at 8pm on 8/27 (just two weeks away).  As usual we'll have door prizes given away at half time as well as a lot of Mean Green swag.  The ChopShop will also feature very special Mean Green Shots for $5.  I hope you can join us.  #GoMeanGreen #BeatUTEP #UNTAlumni

One of the managers (Melanie) said that it’s popular for the husbands to show up with their wives to watch games and the wives drift next door to the wine bar.  Not being sexist or stereotyping, that’s just what Melanie told me.

There will also be a UNT Watching Party at Boomer Jacks in Bedford.  Does that shorten your drive enough?

What network is the UNT vs UTEP game streaming on?  

It’s on Stadium.  They might be streaming it on their app or through Facebook or something.  It’s on channel 47 on DirecTV in DFW area, but not sure about Witchita Falls.

Hope everybody is having a good Friday! I can't wait for next Saturday! Please spread the word and tell other alum, family and friends about this new Chopshop Sports Bar and Garage! Awesome staff and a lot of cool laid-back regulars including me. 

I just spoke with Chop Shop, they said we could hang a UNT Flag in the facility. Does anybody have an extra one? If not, I can go buy one.

I have an NT Alumni flag they can have if nothing else surfaces.

I got a chance to try the Mean Green Shot that the ChopShop has concocted for us.  It's an apple flavored vodka-based shot with green sugar on the rim.  It tasted pretty docile going down, but shortly their after, I found myself losing track of the words coming out of my mouth.  I preceded it with a beer, but c'mon.  Good stuff but be careful.  They'll have them for $5.
