PAC12 infighting begins as Big12 vultures survey the carcass

[But it does make for interesting fodder. And consider this: UCLA must travel to Big Ten territory where California law has banned state money being spent for travel and lodging in 22 states, three of which are in the Big Ten — Ohio, Indiana and Iowa.]

Very interesting indeed.   This maybe be a disaster for UCLA athletics and really make both LA school’s addition to the Big 10 look more ridiculous than it already does.

I think its a good move for the Pac, whats left of the Big12 is not going to be a major network draw especially when they share the same time zones as most of the Big10, ACC, and SEC.  The Pac has an advantage with their time zones, their games can be played after those in the east, which gives them the major network channels at that time.

Yes, ESPN wants to keep the late night West coast games.  No competition from other time zones and people will watch, if they're up, even if they don't really care about who is playing.

When is the last time you watch a 10pm start of a football game. Pac and MWC need the CTZ to get national exposure! This would give them access to both time zones.

Conversely, if you live in the Pacific timezone when was the last time you started your football watching day at 9am?  Sometimes I think the whole what timezone the school is in gets overplayed.  If the game has national appeal and it's on the west coast, the networks will have the game start at 5pm or 6pm (or earlier) to capture the Eastern audience.  If it's more of regional/local interest, then it starts at a time to capture most of that target audience.  If there wasn't a market for the late night west coast games, then there would not be many of them IMHO.
