Update - it looks like the PAC 12 ACC partnership/alliance could be happening now according to Jon Wilmer who broke the original story on USC and UCLA leaving.

Wow. If this is true, that's a big blow to the Big12. Their only way forward is to try and build a 4th super-conference because it's clearly 1a. Big10, 1b. SEC, 3. Pac12/ACC partnership... and then the Big12.

Big12 is already signaling they're looking to aggressively expand. Who do they go after next? Memphis? Boise St? Or do they make strategic emerging market plays like San Diego State or UNLV?

The problem you have building this alliance is that Oregon, Washington, and Stanford will bolt the second they get a chance. If you're the other schools, especially the ones down South do you continue to stay in a conference that will at some point most likely lose its other marquee programs?

The Big XII was "aggressively expanding" with PAC 12 schools, not more G5s. And the "loose scheduling alliance" isn't signed yet. If I'm the Arizona's and Colorado, I'm not taking the Big XII deal off the table yet. If ANY other PAC12 team bolts, they the Big XII deal becomes better.

Pac12 - Oregon, Washington, and Stanford candidates to move in the next 2 years

ACC - Clemenson, Miami, and Florida State candidates to move in the next 2 years

ACC has a long term deal, but I would guess if the top programs were to leave there has to be a trigger to change

What type of TV deal will the Pac12 be able to get? Hard to tell.

Seems the ACC and the Pac are likely to come up with a 2-tier compensation

Yes, that alliance is not on solid ground with those PAC teams waiting by their phone for "the call" from the B1G.
