I know this his personality but SL needs to learn to excite the crowd and get people interested again in the program.  He needs to be a cheerleader.

Look at coach Mac and the basketball team.   I bet Mac speaks to the freshman orientation groups.  He is positive and optimistic and he rubs off on his players and the fans.

If you had to go listen to SL or GM speak which would you choose.

GM here.

At the end of the day, I'm definitely choosing McCasland. He just does a better job in all three phases. He makes the routine plays, and that's what makes him successful.

Cheerleading is much easier when you have something to sell.

I'm not trying to be combative, but I don't care about that. Run a good program is all I ultimately care about. If he's the next great orator of college football coaches, then great. I'm not going to lose sleep if he isn't.

Would you say SL needs more flare?

On a serious note:

No, he doesn't need to be a cheerleader.  This isn't the Hayden Fry era where coaches double as AD, and walk door to door to promote their athletes.  We have entire an entire staff, including paid positions, that are there to market and connect to fans.

GM is dynamic and IMO that's bonus.  It's not needed.  Not a job requisite.  What I need HCs to do is 1) figure out how to win games.  That's it.  As far as personality requirements? Just don't burn bridges.  And, honestly, a small house fire won't get you the pink slip if you're winning a ton.
