Mean Green Alumni Team Admitted Into TBT Field

DENTON — The Basketball Tournament (TBT) – the $1 million, winner-take-all summer basketball event broadcast live on ESPN networks – revealed Wednesday that Bleed Green, the North Texas men's basketball alumni team, has been admitted into TBT's 64-team field. Bleed Green will be competing in the Wichita Regional at Koch Arena from July 22-25.

Bleed Green is organized by 2022 UNT men's basketball graduate J.J. Murray and 2020 UNT men's basketball graduate DJ Draper (who will also play). Bleed Green's current roster includes:

 
The team will be coached by current North Texas Director of Basketball Operations Andre Shaw.

The No. 7 seed Bleed Green will take on No. 2 seed Eberlein Drive in the team's first-round game on Friday, July 22 at 1 pm CT. If Bleed Green advances to the second round, they will face the winner of No. 3 seed Purple and Black (Kansas State alumni) and No. 6 seed Lone Star Legends on Saturday, July 23 at 5 pm CT.

The Wichita Regional championship game is Monday, July 25 at 8 pm CT.

TV information for the Wichita Regional will be released soon.

The winner of the Wichita Regional will face the winner of the Omaha Regional in the quarterfinals in Wichita on July 27. Semifinals will be in Dayton, Ohio at UD Arena on July 30, and the $1M winner-take-all championship game on Aug. 2.

Jordan could not make it this year.  I have not heard why.

Williams couldn't get here for some reason.  You cannot believe the work that D.J. and J.J. have done to put this together, then keep it together.  Another new add last night that should really help also.  Practice should be fun this morning.
