According to Sports Reference, which has our season overall and conference records dating back to the 1957-1958 season, North Texas men’s basketball has reached double digit conference wins 11 times in school history.

However, the quickest any North Texas team has ever reached 10 conference wins in a season so far has been 12 games, most recently done two seasons ago. Against UTEP we are going for our 10th conference win in our 11th conference game, which would be a first in program history per sports reference.

Think they said we already hit the record for best start in any conference with the win today. At least thats what the broadcast said.

Yes they said that on the radio. I think maybe they meant tied some sort of start or something else. We have 9 wins currently.

Didn’t hear but essentially the same can be said of any subsequent game until we lose

Well the university just put out the notice. Best conference start in program history. So maybe that’s what they were referring to. Either way it’s great.

They said 9-1 was the best start. I’m getting reports 9 is less than 10 and these are different stats, but need a former player to confirm.

IIRC it was that this was the best start ever in CUSA (Probably Sunbelt too.) At least that's what I think the commentators said.

This is the best program start in school history. Winning against UTEP would be the first time we have started a conference schedule 10-1. Both are true. It’s not an “either” proposition.
