Disparity at La Tech

Oh! I’m sorry, is it that time of week we kick our college alma mater in the scrotum?
••• Maybe with our setbacks in Athletics we should adopt Mattress Mack’s below quote?

A good artist works with what he's given.

And UNT so far just loves to keep throwing us crotch jokes. So let the kicking resume.

It’s a cinch we’re all equally frustrated & all prefer to have more bragging rights than we have had with our football program. Basketball is in good hands & I’m so glad that the “we’ll never keep Grant” threads have not started.  5-4-3-2 ……🙃 (I think the only job he’d leave UNT for is Baylor).

25 years ago I told a fellow alum who posts here that we are 25 years behind.  I think we’ve dramatically caught up with what’s going on venues-wise in the Mean Green Village especially since the purchase of the Liberty property & the 2011 debut of Apogee Stadium.

Looking at the latest (& still in progress)  recruiting class & after listening to details of each recruit on this week’s podcast; anyhow, I think this class once in will equal or exceed last year’s CUSA champion recruiting class & that—-couldn’t have been more timely being on the eve of AAC membership.
Anyhow, I really think UNT is on the eve of another run of football success & with that we can all hope.

Can’t argue that.

We are the only FBS/FCS school that I’m aware that just flat out won’t even consider athletics to be the main window to the university. Won’t do it…whereas La Tech, a very proud program within a pissant university and region, puts all their pride into their sports.

I will be ready for all the negatives you can post and downvotes you want to give, but I don’t care about music or arts. I don’t watch the Green Brigade march because I don’t care. I only care about them playing music during the game, like the Fight Song and Alma Mater and whatever fanfare they play. Don’t care at all about anything else. Never have. Here’s the thing, I know I’m in the vast minority of UNT fans on this, but I also know that I’m in the vast majority of college football fans. Music and arts don’t draw eyeballs or dollars that equate to any measurable rate as compared to football and basketball. Misplaced values? Probably. Misplaced interest in North Texas? From a financial standpoint and a pride standpoint, there’s no argument—like none.

Preach on Brother Jim!  Preach on!  I'm with you 100%!

And just think, there once was a time when the weightroom and handball court under Fouts were good enough for NT to get Joe Greene, Steve Ramsey, Ronnie Shanklin, Cedric Hardman, Glenn Holloway, Barry Moore, Leo Taylor, James Ivey, Leonard Dunlap, Charles Beatty, Willie Parker....I guess the other schools just had worse facilities.   Oh, and bronze medalist, Bill Schmidt, all the way from PA to Denton.

This is an online fan forum. Where else are we going to talk about our terrible locker room that needs about a $3 million upgrade?

Joe Biden Reaction GIF

Thanks for the JB reminder because my President makes me so proud to be an American. He’s the best President we ever had—even after just one glorious year in office.  What a real trailblazing’ goat ropin’ son of a gun Ted Kennedy’s boy Joe has been. Thanks Democrats!  You have our best interest at heart just like we knew you would.  (Now who do I send all my guns to)?

Yeah, but you, Mean Green Matt, already know Wren Baker is on top of that.  He’s trying to raise big time bucks to do not only that, but a multimillion dollar End Zone facility.  I like his odds to get things done. He doesn’t seem to ever have any barriers.

Just curious, are they providing tours of our locker room to the fans or are we just basing this off of the picture of one section by an exit door?

That picture reminded me of the Presidents house. I bet many people on the board have not seen that before
