UTSA Capital Campaign

UTSA is about to spend some coin on their athletics department. I increasingly get the feeling that we could be in for a great rivalry with these guys, and I’m here for it, especially after this past weekend. The better our conference rivals are, the better we will be.

I agree wholeheartedly.  This is a good thing.  UNT never had a rival until UTSA.

This doesn’t have to be an exclusive / our only rival. We still have other in state rivalries with SMU and Rice along with new regional ones like Tulsa, Tulane, Memphis. Side bar, but I really look forward to traveling to some our AAC road games. Some really fun places to visit in our new conference.

Back in the day when Chuck Curtis was coach at UTA we had the makings of a rival. I remember going to the UTA/UNT football game on their campus the year they open their new stadium. It seated either 9,000 or 12,000, and they dropped football shortly thereafter.

Spent 70m on a Park N Go lot and calling it an “athletic facility”. Couldn’t be UNT.
