Lots going on in the coaching carousal this season, but is a new thread for every non-UNT move necessary in the UNT Football forum?  We have the Eagles Nest for general CFB talk.  Saying this might impact our coaching staff is not good enough, IMO.

I'll hang up and disappear now.  I'l be fine but, man! I guess I'm the only one that notices this forum flooding right now.

I agree a mega thread would be good but I have to ask are you some type of accountant or CPA?  You always seem to prefer things to be very organized around here I have noticed.

Not a mega thread.  Just put it where it's supposed to go: The Eagles Nest.

Yes, I'm a numbers guy.  Mass data.  Former sr pricing analyst for a F100 company.  Not in that field right now, but that's how my mind works.

Wow on his contract 

New #LSU Head Coach Brian Kelly has very interesting clauses in his deal. If he wins a title, firing him would cause an automatic payout of 100% of his remaining salary (LSU has fired Les Miles and Ed Orgeron after winning titles). He gets 90% of it the remaining balance if he’s fired without cause. 

His base salary is 10 years/$95M

BONUSES INCLUDE:

75K for the SEC Championship Game OR
$150K for winning it

$500K “Longevity bonus” annually

$500K for being bowl eligible +
$100K for a NY6 Bowl appearance OR
$200K for a Playoff appearance OR
$300K for a National Title appearance OR
$500K for winning it all

$50K for SEC Coach of the year + 
$75K for National Coach of the Year

Additional academic achievement bonuses of $25K each

He owes $2M to LSU if he leaves voluntarily

Kelly also receives:
-Two courtesy vehicles and two vehicle allowances of $1,000 a month

-Interest free home loan of 20% of the home price up to $1.2M 

-50 hours per year of private jet time on LSU’s jets

      Tim Pernetti's (new AAC Commissioner) remarks regarding exploring more corporate involvement seems interesting and innovative, sort of. Getting some heavy-hitter businesses on board with their big advertising/public-relations budgets. They get to splash their logos all over the AAC venues, ceremonies, uniforms, etc in exchange for some NIL type moola. I don't know, it all just feels weird and uncomfortable to this old fat guy.

      We have complained for years about being left in the dark. The Mean Green Club was promised quarterly meetings that never took place, now there is little to no coverage of the spring practices, player movement is constant so the days of watching a last second scholarship player developing in to a Hall of Fame performer are long gone ala Johnny Quinn, there is little to no fan engagement, etc... It just keeps getting worse and without a push to really involve the fans, I foresee a bleak future. They, the AD, has to create excitement around the team/program or Apogee will just become a waste of money, the new basketball arena will never happen and future adds like baseball will just be an idea that came too late. The days of the G5's are on their way out. It will be whittled down to the top 40 or 50 programs as D1. We might as well go back to our D1AA days and play at the FCS level. I am just about done with sports from a financial commitment position. The greed has ruined it for me. Their is zero loyalty towards the program by the players. It is all about them and how much money they can cram in their pockets and it appears our basketball coach encourages the lack of loyalty. I will watch on television, but that's about it, much like pro sports have become. I have no interest in attending a Cowboys' game live once the prices became ridiculous, same with the Mav's and Rangers' in that stupid new ballpark that was a waste of money. I had arrived at a point where I was only willing to invest in watching North Texas live, but the current situation has ruined that as well. The future of all of college sports is a disaster if some type of control isn't put in place. It is ridiculous and very sad. Guess I will end up spending my money on golf, fine food and drink, drugs, etc. and become a more interesting person.
