I mean…you’re certainly not entirely wrong. -shrug-
that said, there have been numerous efforts at meaningful gun legislation that always encounter bloc opposition from the NRA…err, pardon…GOP.
but how about this…I’ll takes guns out of it…say this is truly just a mental health issue, as Gov. Abbott said, then maybe don’t strip $200+ million from the state budget for mental health services, as Gov. Abbott did.
Did you know that when the downtown Dallas shooter was firing off rounds I went downstairs to the west end station below my apartment and directed people into my more secure parking garage? This happened right as my video that recorded the gun shots you probably saw on cable news was going viral.
But if you're cool with police who take up nearly half the city's budget just hanging out on standby waiting for less cowardly police to get to the scene while 10 year olds are being shot, then be my guest.
Back to ignore you go!
So easy to poke holes in ideas and offer nothing up. I learned something being involved in a mass shooting and that is that responding and managing an event of this nature is really easy from far away.
No no....you need to issue the standard "we have to do something!" then shrug your shoulders.
"thoughts and prayers" on one side = "we have to do something" on the other side...and both sides see the other side as stupid
So now what?
My dude when you call Dems like Beto socialists there's just no taking you seriously. He's married to a billionaire heiress. He's kind of a tool, he simply showed a little bit of balls yesterday. Something a lot of people left of center have been begging Dems to do over the last 20 years.
And yeah, I can distinguish Republican politicians from fiction as well: Reagan was not a bad guy because of any bad guy he played in Hollywood. Schwarzenegger is not actually a terminator.
