The Mavs lost to Abilene Christian in OT last night. Not sure if ACU is returning most of their players from last year, but recall they defeated the Longhorns in the Big Dance back in March, so they're pretty salty.  Not a terrible loss for UTA.  They also got destroyed up in Stillwater by OK State, but that's a tough place to go win.  I wouldn't let their 1-2 record deceive anyone - it's gonna be a tough one like it usually is.

whatever happened to the coach they fired?  Where is he now?  Is he successful?   I can't recall his name to search for him.

Ever since they fired Scott Cross, they haven’t been the same. This sounds like TCU, firing your coach that got you to big stages etc after a long tenure.

Troy has a nice arena and it's a really great campus down there, but Scott Cross' record at Troy in 2 seasons (and 3 games this year) is 21–40 (.344)

Ironically, who did we lose to in the first round of the Sun Belt tournament last year? Troy who was 11-17, 4-12 in conference play.

Coach Ogden, now at Texas:

Season Team Overall Conference Standing Postseason
UT Arlington Mavericks (Sun Belt Conference) (2018–2021)
2018–19 UT Arlington 17–16 12–6 T–2nd
2019–20 UT Arlington 14–18 10–10 7th
2020–21 UT Arlington 13–13 9–8 3rd (West)
UT Arlington: 44–47 (.484) 31–24 (.564)
Total: 44–47 (.484)
