I feel like he's not actually in that hot of a seat. Today's game isn't looking great, but his teams have been close a lot.

Also he seems to be going through a lot in his personal life... not sure I feel the need for an expanding program to take that on.

Feels like we are contracting. Not expanding.

Name Bennett interim coach and begin the national search for our next HC.

We need to interview some big names too. We have to get some positive media attention from this search, and draw attention away from Littrell's failure. Even if we hire an FCS guy with major skins on the wall, we have to bring in some major names for interviews.

No to Bennett. If he won a few he has the resume to become a credible hfc candidate here, who probably doesn't have what it takes to set this program right, based on his record at SMU. Maybe Cobbs could be a good fit as interim, as there would be few expectations anyway, and if he won a few or at least had us playing competitively, might set himself up for a promotion here or a good move to another school, which could look good for us. I just don't see us a place where a "new" coach should be an internal hire, which a Bennett promotion might portend.

No one wants Bennett to be our next coach. It is simple an Interim job. He will understand, or a different assistant will take the job. It doesn't really matter who take the spot right now, as long as Littrell is no longer in charge.
