put simplest, Antifa is an idea...the idea that maaaaaybe Nazis shouldn't have a voice in any facet of civilized life. it needn't be an organized group because the "shut up, Nazi" mantra should be a pretty universally held concept (unless, obviously, if you're a Nazi).
Proud Boys need organized structure and secret meetings because their ideas and actions are lets say "fringe".
as counter, those who may not actually be Proud Boys but kinda deep down privately support their beliefs have needed a foil on the left and have been trying to paint Antifa as an organized structure of violent protesters, vandals and looters who then align with movements like BLM and Defund the Police as a way to discredit those movements on the whole.
it's a boogie man.
Anchorage, Alaska has a higher crime rate than Chicago. Literally no critical thinking involved when it comes to these things, just completely blinded by politics and whatever their right-wing noise machines told them to parrot.
Ah boy. Here we go again with the latest conservative talking point about the Ukraine money. Trillions in Iraq, trillions in Afghanistan to protect Chinese mining interests, but we can't possibly find 40 billion from anywhere else except for the people who are trying to hold their own against the enormous Russian army invading their country. There was only $400 billion in PPP money that was fraudulent, but hardly a peep. The 2017 tax cuts that expired for people making under $75k this year but still apply to the wealthy permanently, that only cost us $1.7 trillion. But $40 billion for Ukraine? God I sure hate all that government waste going to foreigners hoping to avoid genocide.
That should work well in a fire when students are trying to escape. Or trying to escape from their classrooms before the shooter gets to them...
Because the SRO at this elementary did such a bang up job stopping him? Uvalde literally has a SWAT team that just stayed back while parents were screaming at them to enter the building. These cops waited 40 minutes for the border patrol to arrive, and did more to prevent their own children in the building becoming victims than actually stopping the shooter. 40% of their city's budget is police and they were doing more to keep parents from going inside than actually trying to prevent 10 year olds from being mauled. So once again, despite quoting and replying to my post about solutions other than turning schools into prisons, that seems to be the only plan conservatives have.
Onlookers urged police to charge into Texas school
... but I don't think it's fair to take it that far either.
Although they're not really a centrally-organized group, they're definitely out there. Loosely-organized, local groups. Nothing like the "Oath Keepers" or "Proud Boys" organizations that have an actual structured organization, but certainly not just an imaginary, non-existent, group.
