That ship sailed when Texas and OU went to the SEC and the other 3 power leagues all formed their alliance to keep the SEC from getting their way. A 12 team playoff was always gonna have 3 or 4 SEC teams, so this knocks them back to just their champion in the playoff, unless another conference cannot produce a decent alternative and then they have two playoff teams.
