Sad UNT following for a short road trip

I just can’t believe it’s gotten this bad. And I mean you can’t lie, the defense has taken a massive step forward, but there are limitations to what they can do when the offense can barely move the ball.

I just didn’t think losing Darden would make this offense really slow and extremely inconsistent

It’s not just Darden.

We have lost our number 1 and 2 receivers.  We have lost our number 2 and 3 running backs and number one is hurt and only playing because there is no one to replace him.  Then, you follow that with basically having NO quarterback and this team is in a world of hurt.

It is correct that we were not going to be world beaters to start the season but injuries are killing us.

I was shocked they didn't even bring the Cheerleaders... And the LA Tech dance team performed at in the 2nd half and the announcer seemed to thing that the UNT dancers were doing to perform with them (maybe this was a poorly placed joke that I missed).

The University can't put Cheerleaders and the dance team on a single charter bus and drive them four hours to Ruston? They honestly could have done a round trip without a hotel night on Saturday.

We had just as many people in 2019 here when we lost in Ruston and I specifically remember cheer and Scrappy being here.

I flew to El Paso once, got a hotel, spent the weekend there and watched NT get blown out. It was an annoying waste of time and money. I won’t do it again when I know they will get destroyed.

This is basically my experience except I drove to the New Orleans bowl against Troy. Decided I wasn’t taking another trip like that again. Definitely an annoying waste of both time and money. That decision has paid off as the very next year, the New Mexico Bowl against Utah State managed to somehow be even worse. Hell its up in the air if I’m even driving back up to Denton this season.

I drove to ABQ for that bowl. Knowing the game might be ugly, I took the wife skiing in Taos before the game to lessen the pain and make the trip worthwhile.

ABQ is a great place to visit for sure and it took some of the pain of losing so badly away.  I was impressed with New Mexico University and the facilities.

I liked their facilities too. They have a lot of the makings of a solid program. Geography just isn't kind to them. But then again geography is kind to us and I have no room to speak.
