Do we stand behind Littrell?

My take is a bit different I guess.  As long as he's donning UNT colors and representing the school and football team, I will stand by him and all the players that are out on the field competing (same with all UNT coaches and student athletes).  I want him to be successful and by association the team to be successful.  Sure, we're pissed at what we witnessed, but that's because we care.  If we stop getting pissed or caring, that's when we are in the danger zone.  We need him to be so successful that he's hired away as a HC at a "bigger" school.  We don't want to be the school where good up-and-coming coaches come to destroy their careers.   He does need to be careful how he responds to this adversity.  That's a key coaching point of his.  Let's see how he handles it.

A bigger school isn't going to want a coach who has had a losing season 4 of the 6 years he's been here. That ship has sailed.

Once he gets fired here, I guarantee you he'll get a P5 OC gig.

Right, but a P5 school isnt going to hire him away as their HC even if we somehow manage to go 4-6 this year and go about 9-3 next year. It would take a CUSA title and us being ranked in the Top 25 for his name to get sniffed around again.

Any recommendations for what to do if you're in this zone? asking for a friend.

I wouldn't make that guarantee. Larry Fedora didn't get an OC gig in P5 right after North Carolina and his résumé was much better than Littrell's is today. Fedora had to be an analyst at Texas for a year and then became the OC/QB coach a Baylor.

Agreed. I think he goes analyst first. It also gives you time to assess your options so you don't just jump on the first gig that comes to you (which could be another HC making a desperation move).

And he will.  Seth has not forgotten how to Coach in 6 years here.

Again, I think turning down a Big 12 job just got to him.  Hell, it would with most.
(Let’s shake hands & part friends when this is all over).

No. The dude is a dud and his program is a dud. It's sickening. He's blaming poor play but he's the one responsible for recruiting players who play that way and for their motivation etc., or lack thereof. This university hires the worst football coaches. Please make a break from the past.

I'm a believer that a team will take on the personality of their coach.   When Littrell got here, he was fired up, and really upbeat.  You could see his fire.   The past few seasons, you rarely see him smiling, and his demeanor is always down.   Some folks here call him "coach mumbles", and I think that's because during his pressers, he's just going through motions and not excited AT ALL.

If the coach has low energy, guess who will play with low energy?
If the coach says the same thing over & over, guess who will play the same way over & over?
