Man, Clayton Tune still breaks my heart. His parents were regulars at the restaurant I was running while Clayton was still in hs. 
 

Of course, bonded over Mean Green football, and their oldest son’s time there. (Especially, How disappointed I was that we never got to see just what he was gonna do when he finally got the chance to start) 

Anyway, I was always just so disappointed that we never once even picked up the phone to talk to that kid. This isn’t an indictment on Litrell by any means. It was when he first got here, and was getting his bearings, plus we had just brought in Fine the year before. It was more of an indictment on McCarney because his staff never reached out to him, not once. 
 

Just another story of a kid that was playing 10 minutes from Denton, and his family loved UNT, and we never even contacted him. 
 

ok, rant over. At least he only destroyed us 1 year. Thanks Covid!

      Doesn't seem new, but unlimited transfers

      I can't blame them, the system in place allows them to profit and to move freely. We may not like it, but it's the system. I'm hoping schools taking over the collectives, it's already happening for reasons I stated above, will usher in contracts and buy outs for players. We've opened Pandora's box so we aren't going back to amateur sports, the best we can get out of it is payment on our investments.

      Agree, there was some semblance of programs doing the right thing and following the rules even though they were always getting busted for violations, and everyone knew cheating was going on. It's why I was saying the veil is off now, and making everyone play by those rules has supercharged the whole thing. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the schools aren't supposed to work with NIL collectives to get players right? But everyone including UNT is 100% working with these collectives to send out deals to players. Same kind of fake rule following like we used to have, just more of it now.

      I’m not the type who’s going to say, “I’m done with college sports” and that be it. I’m moreso the guy whose interest is just going to wane to the point that I don’t watch anymore. It would actually free up a lot of time that I could be more productive🤣🤣
