Fouts Field would only have 8 more years  of an existence since Apogee Stadium would open in 2011, but many of us who attended the “Down Goes the Goal Post Game” would say it was the best one we’d ever seen at venerable Ol’ Lady Fouts. 
Those from the 50’s & 60’s might disagree, but most of us from the 1970’s thru 2010 would most likely not.

••• Check out the great Patrick Cobbs in the video.  That fella’ has not aged one iota in all the years since that 2002 shootout. So glad he’s on the UNT coaching staff coaching our Running Backs. 

••• As I recall the Denton High School Broncos were in a playoff game at the very same time UNT was hosting the Aggies of NMSU.

      Doesn't seem new, but unlimited transfers

      I can't blame them, the system in place allows them to profit and to move freely. We may not like it, but it's the system. I'm hoping schools taking over the collectives, it's already happening for reasons I stated above, will usher in contracts and buy outs for players. We've opened Pandora's box so we aren't going back to amateur sports, the best we can get out of it is payment on our investments.

      Agree, there was some semblance of programs doing the right thing and following the rules even though they were always getting busted for violations, and everyone knew cheating was going on. It's why I was saying the veil is off now, and making everyone play by those rules has supercharged the whole thing. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the schools aren't supposed to work with NIL collectives to get players right? But everyone including UNT is 100% working with these collectives to send out deals to players. Same kind of fake rule following like we used to have, just more of it now.

      I’m not the type who’s going to say, “I’m done with college sports” and that be it. I’m moreso the guy whose interest is just going to wane to the point that I don’t watch anymore. It would actually free up a lot of time that I could be more productive🤣🤣
