The USFL announced its re-emergence Thursday with a return in the spring of 2022. The league plans a minimum of eight teams for its first season and will retain rights to key original team names -- like the New Jersey Generals, Philadelphia/Baltimore Stars. Memphis Showboats and Los Angeles Express.

The only chance a league has to last in the spring, in my opinion, is if they come to some type of an agreement with the NFL. A place for fring NFL players and Prospects might work

The way it worked for the USFL before is not just having fringe NFL players, but ELITE players as well.  I loved the USFL when they first started, but they completely lost my interest once entire franchises started swapping out (e.g., the Chicago Blitz for the Arizona Wranglers) and they started playing in the fall.

I find the idea of resurrecting the USFL morbidly fascinating, but I'm with LongJim on how long it will actually last.
