Tampering - Who saw this coming

Recommended Posts

Straight from Sonny Dykes mouth:

"You want people in our sport to be ethical enough where they don't fall prey to that," Dykes said, "but ... you got to win and you got a high-pressure job and you have all these things and then all of a sudden, you look up and you go, 'Oh, they didn't punish anybody, and they're not going to punish me. So why not?'"

Yep.  Sounds like SMU is in on it.  At least Dykes is being honest.

Was talking to SUMG about this going to happen.  I guess the NCAA policing unit now have a new reason to exist.

The NCAA runs some things like the present day personal freedoms-destroying bureaucracy, but at least I don’t think in Indianapolis they’re stashing their cookie jars with extra$.

Not sure how you police it.  Make a punishment harsh enough for them to reconsider?

A temp ban (like, you can't coach or be connected to a program) for X season(s)?
A HUGE financial penalty?
Force-hire McCarney on your staff?

If only other teams could understand how Iowa got to Iowa by being Iowa in Iowa
