DRC: UNT poised to promote Petrilli to full-time role

I’ve got an idea.  On punt coverage, when the punting team is expecting a fair catch, just stand there.  I know it sounds crazy, but just stand there and when the punting team starts to walk off, run the ball back hopefully for a touchdown.

Nah.... That would never work.

This is really weird.  Why not just make him the STs coordinator?

At least it gets us another staff recruiter, but I dunno how effective he’s gonna be in his zone (if he has one?)... wonder if those kids would feel like ‘2nd option’ guys when we send our “kickers/punters/specialists” coach to those H.S.

Maybe to save money?

Only if defensive players feel second rate when a tight ends coach visits under their high school the present staff.

I think most guys know a TEs coach is an actual position coach.  And if coach Mays happens to recruit that area, he’s who will be visiting.

“Kickers/Punters/Specialists Coach” sounds like the HC doesn’t even trust this guy to do his job ... which is STs Coordinator.

I wish they would have just named Petrilli STs coordinator so those other coaches can focus on coaching up the guys at their respective positions while kickoffs/returns/punts/XPs are happening instead of having to “coordinate”.
