CUSA all tournament team

2021 ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM
Javion Hamlet, North Texas
Mardrez McBride, North Texas
Charles Bassey, WKU
Dayvion McKnight, WKU
Michael Ertel, UAB

How in the world, did McKnight make this squad?  He averaged 8 pts, 3rbs and less than 2 assists a game. 

Just had to have two WKU players on the squad.

He had 14 assists through three tournament games (with 7 TOs, so a decent 2/1 number).  He had an excellent game against UAB, which is probably what got him selected.  Questionable, but not glaring.

I would put Simmons on that AC team for sure.  I thought he really played well during the tournament.

They announced that Simmons made AC last night. Gave him a trophy and everything. I am confused.

Where do you keep getting this assist number that you keep repeating falsely?

You are right, he averaged 4 assts a game.  So his numbers were 8 ppg 3 rbs and 4 assts ppg.

Bad error on my part, but does those stats come close to an all tournament numbers and I watched all the games: and must of missed the intangles that netting him the selection. 

Again, it was just to get WKU two players on the team; there are probably a dozen or more players that had a better tournament.

Well, 14 assists spread over three games is closer to five a game than four (4.67), but I suppose he didn't average five.  Nonetheless, teams that get to the Finals are always gonna get extra credit on those sorts of teams because they played more games total.  Unless someone that went out early goes for 20+ points in a game or has a game with a dozen assists, chances are they won't get selected over someone whose team made the Finals.

I did, and this is the All Tournament Team from the CUSA website.  Is there another one that includes McBride?

Obviously, I didn't make it up.  Apparently was not using the official CUSA team.   However, it does not change the question why is McKnight on the team. 

I like the official team a lot better, long due recognition for Simmons.
