Potential is all you ever have on any player before they arrive. It's not like he was able to get time and fail, he was injured. Thanks to their recruiting they just brought in a player who will be a early round one NFL draft pick. I would rather this scenario than him having washed out and then coming here.

Like what Harvey and a few others have done. He should be competing right when he gets here, but I hope that Aune and Martin and Drummond make him fight!

I hope you are right. If he is the competitor we need, getting pushed and knowing he has to stay on top of his game should hopefully make him better. I would like to see Drummond red shirt

Yeah very true. Aune and Martin are primary ones I think will compete

C-USA dual threat Qb's are usually the undersized guys like 6' and under. Keep in mind that Dr. Ruder is coming in at 6'3" 230lbs with 4.5 speed. I really like Aunne, but this guy should be kicking A$$ in C-USA. I would also expect to see a couple of Qb's transfer.

I move to formally adopt the moniker “Dr. Ruder” for all references to the aforementioned player.
Is there a second?

I object.
He has only been in school for 3 years.  He ain't a doctor.   He must earn a doctorate before being called "Doctor".
Kinda like Brandon McCoy was a Sergeant in the Army, so he could be called "Sarge".

Sarge was Sarge because he was a Sarge, but Sarge didn't need to be a Sarge to be called Sarge.

I don't think McCoy ever made Sergeant. All the write-ups I ever saw said he was a Specialist. That is one rank below Sergeant, but I think he still deserved the nickname Sarge.

I think Ruder is going for an MBA too. We need to find a work for that.

I think you are supposed to call MBAs “douchebag” but Dr. Ruder seems much nicer.

Roto..... Ruder!! GMG

I hope not.  That would signal to me that is game was in the toilet.

Regarding "Dr. Ruder", I guess I am missing the reference.  Anyone want to enlighten me?

Just that he basically has time to earn a doctorate with his remaining eligibility.

No one has declared that Ruder is the answer, I wonder why some of you seem to be going to the opposite extreme.

Looks to me like he is a fine commitment that may turn out to be a key signing.

It is not like Aune can't be improved upon.  Competition is key to team development.

I think Austin Aune will be a very capable starter or backup—Ruder most likely the same scenario.

Many of us can remember when we barely had a starter up there—least of all a backup.  Personally, I’m enjoying all this talent bumping into each other in Mean Green Country.  I honestly believe all this will have one heckuva’ happy ending for all.
