Why are so many interested in Mike Stoops?  He was fired from his job at Oklahoma.  Think about that ... a Stoops fired from Oklahoma.  Reportedly, he is also tough to work with on a staff.

You know that Sabin fellow at Alabama is really know for keeping bad coaches around his program; evidence in their lack of success.

There is a difference between his core coaching staff and his analyst (coaching rehab) projects. Major Aoplewhite is a stellar example of a coach that went to the Saban rehab program because nobody would hire him.

This drive alone reduces my interest in Stoops at any capacity to zero.

torbush-wow.gif That was one of those drives where you can tell them the play before the snap and you still gain 5 yards a pop. Embarrassing for OU.

I’m saying that when Bennett Gave any inclination about a possible return he was the number one target

What I’m gathering here is that we talked to Stoops. We got shot down. I believe we also targeted someone else either before or after Stoops, I’m not sure which. So then SL called his old buddy Bennett to get some other possible leads because he was out of ideas and would like to keep his job. Then Bennett was open to the idea of coming here so we targeted him.

You’re playing coy here, so I don’t expect you to confirm. But I suppose you could deny it. This is just what I’ve gathered from other sources, your posts and Bennett’s podcast interview.

PB may have been the third person to contact about the job, but that was probably before SL knew he was even open to returning to coaching. I imagine if SL knew that PB was open to returning to coaching, he would have been #1.

I feel like FAU is always trying to SPECIFICALLY one-up UNT.  And they're successful at that...a lot.

I think we got the better of the two DC's and I completely disagree with that.  They're going out to hire the best they can with all of their opponents in mind, not just us.
