Something is brewing at TN. [ESPN]

"Your failure to promote and maintain an atmosphere of compliance and to monitor the activities of the coaches and staff members that report, directly or indirectly, to you has led to the current NCAA investigation and is bringing and will likely continue to bring the University into considerable public disrepute, embarrassment, contempt, scandal, and/or ridicule," said the intent to terminate letter, which was signed by UT chancellor Donde Plowman and athletic director Phillip Fulmer....

...Additionally, Fulmer, a Hall of Fame coach, plans to retire after leading the athletic department for more than three years. Plowman said Fulmer's retirement is independent of and unrelated to the investigation.

Pruitt and at least two other coaches fired for cause. Buyout voided.

Wonder what that will do to coaches considering UT, but wondering what happens if they get fired. If they feel uncertain they would really get the buyout, might they be looking elsewhere for their next gig?

if there is trouble brewing at TN, doubt they will be looking at a stained Freeze after his stint at Ole Miss

Doesn't look like UT will hire Freeze.

Any consideration that this "integrity" bit might just be lip service? We're talking about the SEC here.

No doubt Tennessee would not be talking "integrity" if they weren't being forced to do so. But Freeze is NOT a coach you even interview while the NCAA is still doing an investigation of your program.

I get where you are coming from, but am not so sure.  Freeze's problems were regarding his personal behavior and not how he ran his program if I remember correctly.  It will be interesting to follow this because Tennessee has been a mess ever since they pushed Fulmer out as coach.
